Co-creating Gender Liberation

A Two-Hour Interactive Workshop

Saturday, October 26th, 1-3pm CST

(Convert to your time zone here.)

Facilitators: Liberty Gonzalez (they/them, Genderfree Pagan-Jew)

& Khi Giles (they, them, trans* Black gender nonconforming dreamer)

In this transformative two-hour session, join facilitators Liberty and Khi as we explore what it means to collectively co-create gender liberation in our communities. Drawing on our personal experiences and professional work, we will challenge rigid gender norms and binaries, making space for expansive and authentic gender expressions that go beyond the binary framework.  Come get real with us about the limits the gender binary imposes on ALL of us and how to get free together.

We’ll examine the colonial and imperial histories that shaped today’s understanding of gender and hear from creative leaders like ALOK, whose work blends art, comedy, and personal narrative to illuminate the possibilities of a liberated world beyond the binary. Participants will leave with practical tools to help foster gender co-liberation in their communities, and a deeper understanding of how these issues intersect with equity, compassion, and collective care.

Whether you're new to these conversations or deeply engaged in this work, this session is for anyone committed to compassionate dialogue, creative expression, and collective liberation.

Meet Your Facilitators

Liberty is a genderfree Pagan-Jew with a deep commitment to exploring the intersections of identity, liberation, and collective care. Liberty’s work has spanned coaching, consulting, and community organizing, with a focus on queer, trans, and nonbinary communities.

Khi, a Black transmasculine educator and advocate, brings an equally deep commitment to this work, grounding their facilitation in lived experience and years of community engagement around trans issues, racial justice, and collective healing.

Why This Workshop Matters

Gender norms affect us all, and breaking free from rigid binaries can help create more compassionate, inclusive, and flourishing communities. Understanding how these norms have been shaped by colonialism, imperialism, and other systems of oppression allows us to approach the work of liberation from a place of deeper empathy and awareness. This workshop is not just an exploration of gender; it’s a space where we can co-create a future rooted in collective liberation.
